a girl's gotta have some flair

Highlands Ranch, CO    2005

Another from the archives...I think this may go in my girls' playroom BIG.  Don't you think?  These shoes are the infamous wizard of oz sparklies from Target.  You know the ones.  Every three year old has a pair and refuses to wear any. other. shoe.  Both of my girls were obsessed with these shoes.  They got glitter everywhere...not to mention made their feet smell horrific.  I was so annoyed at the time...but so glad I took this picture!  Now I look back fondly on the age where the best part of their day was wearing the "sparklies".

Speaking of flair...are you on facebook?  Because I am.  Let's be friends.

another gem

This image...is still in a frame in my living room.  But I played with it and did a little cross process, just for fun. I love going back to an old image and seeing what you can do differently with it.

Littleton, CO     August 2005

Some important things to note here:

1.  I let Sara wear a tutu over a dress and I kept my mouth shut about it.  This is very hard for me to do.  But I wanted to get out the door that day and I remember thinking, "choose your battles...."

2.  The soggy diaper hanging out from under said tutu.

3.  We were at the Littleton Historical Museum which is a real working farm.  On the other side of that fence, was someone putting horseshoes on, or milking a cow, I didn't actually look.  But the girls were fascinated.

back in the day

So one of my goals for the year, is to really dig through my old images-when I say old, I mean, when I first purchased a digital slr camera, at the end of 2004.  Everything before that is film, and well, that is a whole other animal.  Boxes, and boxes, of negatives.  And where does one even get film developed anymore? Film...it is a dying breed.  But anyway.  Today I started with 2005 and found this gem...of my 2 girls, ages 2 and 4.  I can't believe they are 6 and 8 now.  I am hoping as I continue to work through these pictures, I will find more images that I had forgotten about, that mean so much now.

newborn session

Denver, CO  03.24.09

I have photographed this family several times...but there were only 3 kids.  Now, there are 4!  Baby James made his arrival on St. Pat's and he has got his work cut out for him!  His brother and sisters are a crazy bunch.  We had fun holding the baby, and then jumping on the bed!  James was worn out and slept through most of his images...perfect!

Image info: these were all taken in the client's home, using window light.

(oops) I did it again!

A little shout out to Britney Spears...oh come on, admit it, her songs are catchy.

But I did it again.  I forgot to post!  I went out of town...so sue me.  To make up for it I will give you not one, but TWO posts today.  Isn't that fantastic?  Without further ado...

3 month old session with little Kayla.  She was a busy one for 3 months!  I've never seen a baby that age move so much.  I have a feeling she is going to give her parents a run for their money!  She will be back-we are doing the First Year package...so good times ahead!
